HOUSTON – Steven Lockhardt has helped thousands of families catch Santa Claus in the act.

The League City man’s company just launched an iPhone application, in addition to its website.

Both enable parents to upload a picture of their living room then print-out the “proof” for their children: a digital photo of St. Nick unloading presents next to their Christmas tree.

Lockhardt says the inspiration came early on Christmas morning in 2007 after he realized he’d forgotten to eat Santa’s cookies, baked the night before by his two daughters.

“I popped up about 5:30 in the morning, I ran out there, I ate the cookies and drank some milk. I told my wife right then, I said how cool would it be if we could give them a picture of Santa caught right here in our house.”

The business is expected to get 3 million clicks in the days leading up to Christmas. Each Santa photo costs about ten bucks. And Lockhardt collects 95 percent of his annual revenues within a span of 72-hours.

“We work 365 days a year but our actual business only takes place three nights out of the year, Christmas Eve being the biggest night.”
